More Endorsements Rolling in!

Good news again! We have received another endorsement for the campaign from the VP Finance of the AUS, Kristian Arciaga. The content of the endorsement follows:

One of the very few candidates in this election who can reach across faculty lines for the betterment of UBC, Johannes Rebane has his share of impressive accomplishments. A successful VP Academic in both the Commerce Undergraduate Society and the Alma Mater Society, Johannes has brought his vision to student politics and has acted on his promises. He helped pioneer the double B.A. and B.Com degree, initiated a constituent-based VP Academic caucus, and acted on student interests with an open-door policy in the AMS Academic office.

Johannes is experienced, creative, and enthusiastic with respect to student interests. He is well aware of student needs and I am certain he will act on them once again, if elected. I fully support Johannes Rebane's candidacy for the UBC Senate.

Endorsement from Bryan Tomlinson, UBC Senator

Good news on our campaign front! We have received the first endorsement of the season from one of this past year's Student Senators, Bryan Tomlinson. The content of the endorsement follows:

Endorsement of Candidacy:

Johannes Rebane
Candidate for At-Large Student Senator 2010/2011

In the past three years at UBC, Johannes Rebane has proven himself to be a passionate, intelligent, and adept student politician.  Specifically focusing his efforts on academic affairs, Johannes has committed himself to improving student experiences in a number of ways.  His position as the 2009/2010 AMS VP Academic has allowed him to further his endeavors of improving academic conditions on campus, with innovative and engaging initiatives.  Having worked closely with University administrators and faculty, Johannes is well prepared to effectively and tactfully represent students on the UBC-Vancouver Senate.

JRepresentative of his efficacy in working through Senate and academic red tape at the university, Johannes spearheaded the development of a B.A./B.Com. dual degree program which is coming to Senate for final approval this spring, among many other academic projects. Given my past experiences with Johannes on the former AMS Academic Quality Committee, and in previous employment, I feel that he is an ideal candidate for the UBC Senate, and has the attributes ideal for the position as a Student Senator-at-Large.
